God moves in mysterious ways! That is probably one of the most used phrases going, but this time it’s true! Up until now (early October 2010) our new little church plant has been meeting in Webster’s Theatre, on the High Street in Arbroath. The room has been great, it can probably hold 70 people at a push, but it does involve a bit of set up and take down of sound equipment, setting up for teas and coffees, and other bits and pieces.
Not too big a deal, right? I remember helping set up for Vancouver South Vineyard each week when we met in a Sikh function suite in South Van. We had a full band, sound equipment and over 300 chairs to set out. So, our current set up isn’t too hard.
However, Sunday morning is not the be all and end all of our church meetings – there are youth meetings, sunday school, midweek meetings, as well as lots of other visionary stuff which Gary & Kim bring to the table – Bible School, Leadership School, and more! The space we have on a Sunday wasn’t going to cut it.
We had looked into the possiblity of renting the church on James Street, which is where we used to go to church until 2004. It didn’t look like it was going to work out, but now, this Wednesday, we’ll be moving into the building!
It’s going to be great to have space, and a place which we can call home. 🙂
Our first Sunday service in our new facility will be on October 17th, 11am. We’d love to see you there!
